John Irving is one the world’s foremost music scholars and early music performers.  Currently Professor of Performance Practice at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, and Professor of Fortepiano at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, he has been Director of The Institute of Musical Research at London University and Vice President of the Royal Musical Association. Today he guides us through the world of the early keyboard instruments with works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart and Beethoven’s mighty Sonata in C minor, Op.13 (‘Pathétique’), all performed on instruments the composers would have known and used.
