Celebrated harpsichordist Julian Perkins presents a programme of baroque jewels in the exquisite surroundings of the Norman Church of St Clements’.  Julian Perkins is founder-director of Sounds Baroque, has performed concertos with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Sixteen, and conducted staged opera productions for the Buxton Festival, Dutch National Opera Academy and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, among others. In 2016, Julian was appointed Artistic Director of Cambridge Handel Opera Company.  

Handel’s great aria ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’ from Rinaldo forms the centrepiece of the programme. With works by Frescobaldi, Froberger, J.S and W.F Bach and Rameau, this concert is a literal guide through many of the greatest composers for this instrument.
