Paintings by Bill Cameron Ward

May 2017

Since moving to Deal from Paris I have painted enthusiastically in oils drawing much of my inspiration from the local environment and people of the town. For some works I have also drawn on my experiences in Paris and other parts of the world in both figurative and abstract work, featuring the beauty of line, form, colour and rhythm as I see it. I pay particular homage to the effect of light and its influence on the emotional impact of the work.

I paint, obsessively almost every day, experiencing the pain, and rejoicing in the passion of the process. Much is learned, and for each painting the results of the creative act begun with deliberation are always subject to modification by mood or chance. Nothing is given, certain, or achieved simply, but for me it is nevertheless always exciting. Every picture tells a story.
